The Book Bin hosts local and visiting authors for signings, readings, and poetry nights.

Last Friday Poetry Night at the Salem Book Bin happens on the last Friday of each month, and has an open mic as well as a reading by a featured, local poet.

Several book clubs also meet at the Salem Book Bin, including the Book Bin Bestsellers Book Club, the Book Bin Science Fiction Book Club, the Book Bin Graphic Novel Book Club, and the Connect and Read More Book Club. See the calendar for book club meetings.

If you are an author and interested in possibly reading at the Book Bin, please email David at

The Book Bin is a locally owned, family operated business that has been in the same family since 1984. Three generations currently spend their time between the Corvallis and Salem stores.

Both stores have feline mascots: Tess in Corvallis, the grandmotherly matron of the Book Bin, and Rose in Salem, who is young, frisky, and shares a birthday with H. P. Lovecr
